Helping Redline Specialist Cars tackle a challenging year with COVID-19

Redline Specialist Cars are one of the pioneering companies that have adopted Taskbox into their workflow. They are currently the largest independent prestige car dealership in the UK and have over 200 Vehicles in stock.

Like all areas of retail they were hit significantly by the COVID-19 crisis, and subsequent lockdowns and restrictions on operations that this harrowing virus has caused.

This, of course, left them in a position where they needed to adopt some drastic structural and operational changes, whilst maintaining the same customer experience, and selling their quite fantastic stock.

Enter Taskbox

John, Founder and Finance Director, decided to take a leap of faith and adopt Taskbox into Redline’s complex and fast-paced workflow, to add some strong technological bolstering to their processes whilst, unfortunately, having to operate with a 50% reduced staffing levels to maintain their operations through this pandemic.

Redline, having been in business for over 25 years, already had a well placed operation, but what Taskbox allowed them to do was improve further upon a tried and tested routine. It enables complete visibility of all their stock, down to details of what exact work was required on every stock vehicle without having to leave the office to inspect the vehicle. This coupled with the exact location of the car, and if this preparatory work had been completed.

Taskbox in addition to this also enabled fluid communication between all the moving parts of the company, from all locations. Service, Sales, Directors, Detailers were all completely in the loop with everything that was going on.

In an environment where there were reduced staff, and where there was a greater span of responsibility for the remaining employees, they found Taskbox utterly invaluable.

Redline saw sales numbers maintained and in some cases increased during this time, and Taskbox’s seamless format and functionality allowed this reduced staff team to not only continue to distribute over 120 cars per month but to the same exceptional standard that Redline is so famous for.

They were able to get the same volume of vehicles sold, prepared, and delivered, with the customer service to match by adding Taskbox into their workflow. It made the seemingly impossible, possible.

It allowed them to continue to focus on what was truly important for the company - customer service - and providing the UK with the finest supercars around. With this increased workload, taskbox’s clear formatting and automation allowed for the burden of this workload to be eased through our Software.
